How to Prepare for Your Eyelash Extension Appointment
To ensure the best results and a seamless lash experience, please review and follow these important pre-appointment guidelines:
1. Arrive with Clean, Makeup-Free Lashes
For optimal lash retention and healthier natural lashes, arrive with freshly cleansed lashes. Avoid all eye makeup, including mascara, eyeliner, eyeshadow, and false strip lashes.
✘ No makeup
✘ No lash glue residue
✘ No lash strips within 24 hours of your appointment
Makeup and adhesive residue interfere with proper lash bonding and reduce the time available for your actual lash application.
2. Avoid Caffeine at Least 6 Hours Before Your Appointment
Caffeine stimulates the nervous system and can cause involuntary eye movements or twitching, making it harder to safely apply lash extensions. For best results and your lash artist’s precision:
✔ Avoid coffee, tea, energy drinks, and chocolate for at least 6 hours prior.
✔ Relaxed, still eyes = fuller, more even lash application.
3. Remove Contact Lenses Before Your Appointment
For your safety and comfort, please remove contact lenses before your lash session. This reduces the risk of irritation, scratching, or contact with adhesive fumes during the procedure.
Why Prepping Properly Matters
Following these steps helps us deliver a flawless lash set while protecting the health of your natural lashes. A clean canvas means better adhesion, longer retention, and more time spent lashing—not cleaning.

Lash Extension Aftercare & Maintenance Tips
✅ Clean Lashes = Superior Retention
Arrive to your lash appointment with clean, makeup-free lashes. This is the foundation for long-lasting retention and healthy lash application. But don’t stop there—daily cleansing and gentle handling are key to keeping your lashes looking flawless between fills.
📅 Pre-Book Lash Fills Every 2–3 Weeks
To maintain your lash fullness, schedule your fills every 2 to 2.5 weeks. Booking two to three appointments in advance helps you secure the days and times that work best for you. Keep in mind that appointments booked more than 21 days (three weeks) after your last fill will be considered a full set. You must also have at least 40% of your extensions remaining on each eye for the appointment to qualify as a fill.
⏳ First 24 Hours: Be Extra Cautious
The first 24 hours after your lash appointment are crucial. During this time, the adhesive is still curing. Avoid contact with water, steam, or sweat, and skip saunas, hot yoga, and heavy workouts. Also, be careful not to wash your face directly over your lashes.
❌ Avoid Oil-Based Products
Oil-based products break down lash adhesive and lead to premature shedding. If you can’t completely eliminate them from your routine, be sure to use only oil-free skincare and makeup around the eye area to preserve retention.
🧼 Wash & Cleanse Lashes Daily
Yes—cleaning your lash extensions every day is essential. Use our lash-safe aftercare kit, which includes Dreamy Lash Shampoo, a Fluffy Cleansing Brush, and a Compact Drying Fan. This keeps your lashes free of makeup, oils, and debris that could impact their health and longevity.
💤 Sleep on Your Back
Sleeping on your back is the best way to protect your lashes. Sleeping on your side or stomach can cause lash shedding, bending, or breakage due to friction against your pillow.
❌ No Mascara or Strip Lashes
Mascara and false lashes should never be applied over your lash extensions. Doing so ruins the fluffy appearance, causes unnecessary buildup, and leads to early fallout. It also makes your lash set harder to clean and maintain.
💕 Be Gentle With Your Lashes
Treat your lashes with care. Avoid rubbing your eyes, pulling at your lashes, or using harsh materials like cotton pads around the eye area. Always choose soft, lash-safe tools and products when cleansing or drying your face.
Consistent lash care means consistently beautiful results.
Follow these aftercare tips to extend the life of your lash extensions, protect your natural lashes, and keep your sets looking full and fabulous between fills.

How to Prepare for Your PMU Brow Appointment
1-2 Days Before Your Appointment
To get the best results from your permanent makeup (PMU) brow treatment, avoid exercising for at least 24 hours before your session. Stop taking any blood-thinning medications—including Vitamin E, Aspirin, Niacin, and Ibuprofen—a minimum of 72 hours prior. Avoid alcohol consumption for at least 24 hours before your procedure. One week before your appointment, gently exfoliate the brow area to enhance ink absorption and ensure smoother pigment application.
What to Avoid 4 Weeks Prior
Refrain from tweezing, threading, or waxing your brows for four weeks before your appointment to preserve natural hair growth. Stop using Retinol and Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) skincare products, along with chemical peels, microdermabrasion, and harsh facial treatments until your brows are fully healed. Avoid tanning or excessive sun exposure; arriving with a recent tan or sunburn will require rescheduling and forfeiting your deposit because sunburned skin sheds pigment prematurely.
What to Avoid 2 Months Before
Avoid Botox, dermal fillers, brow tinting, and any cosmetic surgeries or enhancements near the brow area for at least two months before your appointment. This helps ensure proper healing and optimal pigment retention.
Special Note for Accutane Users
If you have used prescription Accutane in the past, you must wait at least one year before considering permanent makeup brow procedures to protect your skin and achieve the best results.
Aftercare
Flawless Brows are Within Reach
Every client receives a comprehensive Aftercare Kit at the end of their session. These kits include detailed care instructions, shower visors, ointments, and other essentials designed to protect and nourish the treated brow area for optimal healing and pigment retention.
Pre-Book Your Essential PMU Brow Touch-Up
Permanent makeup brows require a two-step process: the initial application followed by a touch-up session scheduled 6 to 8 weeks later. It’s important to book your touch-up appointment in advance to secure your preferred date and time. Remember, your touch-up should be completed within six months of the initial procedure to ensure the best lasting results.
Scabbing Is a Normal Part of Healing
During the healing phase, expect some scabbing. Do not pick, scratch, or peel the scabs—allow them to fall off naturally to avoid pigment loss or scarring.
Avoid Sweating During Healing
Avoid activities that cause excessive sweating while your brows heal. Sweat can break down pigment, resulting in poor retention, fading color, and increasing the risk of infection.
Things to Avoid for Optimal Healing
Protect your brows by avoiding direct water contact, harsh shower streams, saunas, steam rooms, pools, saltwater, and baths. Stay away from sun exposure, tanning beds, dust, smoke, pets, and any chemicals such as makeup, toners, moisturizers, or serums around the treated area. Additionally, postpone Botox, chemical peels, microdermabrasion, and other skin treatments for at least five weeks after your procedure.
What to Expect During the Healing Process
- Healing and pigment settling usually take 7 to 14 days, during which your brows will go through several stages:
- Your brows may appear darker, thicker, and bolder as the pigment oxidizes. Mild swelling is normal and should subside within 48 hours.
- The area may feel tight or hard as scabs form naturally. The pigment might look raised. If you have oily skin, gently use non-powdered blotting sheets to absorb excess oil.
- Brows will begin to exfoliate and shed evenly. The color may seem faded beneath the peeling skin, but it will gradually deepen in the coming weeks—patience is key.
- Exfoliation should be finishing. Continue to avoid picking or scratching the brows to protect your results.
